Hello, I’m a lost Hyde. My name is Jonathan Hyde but I go by Jon. My parents divorced when I was young and I have had no subsequent contact with my biological father or my Hyde family.
I was born in Nashville, TN, in 1970. My father, Richard Wayne Hyde, is the youngest of 4 sons, all Nashville born to James “Jimmy” Hyde who is known due to being the proprietor of a famous Nashville Night club in Printer’s Alley, The Carousel Room/Club. My uncles were 1) James R Hyde (deceased, moved to Alabama), (2) William Hyde (who I believe is deceased – moved to California) – (3) Gerald Hyde (deceased – moved to Arizona), and (4) Richard Wayne (status unknown but was living in a suburb of Savannah, Georgia called “Pooler” up until the Covid-19 pandemic).
I was told by my mother that my father’s family has been in the Nashville area since the early 1800’s, and there’s obviously the famous (locally/historically) Henry Hyde of Hyde’s Ferry here in Nashville. I have no idea if any of her comments are correct. My father’s relationship with his father was complicated and our relationship is non-existent.
Any assistance/guidance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. After living away from Nashville for 46 years I’ve returned home and am curious how my family is connected to this area of Tennessee.
Thank you!
