I am descended from Humphrey Hyde/Hide of CT. Are there others
Researching this branch of the family? Humprey lived in Colonial days.
I am a descendant of Charles M Hyde. Born 1819, SC. He was married to Charlotte Sabrina Day. have traced him from there through Georgia and into Alabama. Is anyone researching this Hyde? Not to be confused with the Charles Hyde married to Harriet who lived and died in Arkansas.
Thank you for your time,
Sara Hyde Segrest
Sara, I’ll be putting my reply on your other post under Charles Hyde 1740…England.

I own a fine oil painting of James Franklin Hyde, b. November 2, 1813, in Pittsfield, MA, d. August 3, 1911, in Pierre, SD. He lived to 97 years, 9 months which was very rare then! This portrait was done by H.K. Saunders in 1906. Saunders did the governors of S. D. and several other states. I could photograph and post it if anyone is interested. I am, by seven years, the youngest of the 31 great-grandchildren of James Franklin Hyde. I was born in 1947. Thanks!
